Two goals at either end of the game saw Little Eaton into the final of the Senior League Cup.
A gripping encournter away to Radcliffe Olympic was won by a goal in the first five minutes from Emma Dickingson and another in injury time at the end of the game from Lou Shepherd.
In between, the team soaked up massive pressure from the home side who enjoyed plenty of possession but rarely found a way through to Adele Chambers' goal.
The back five played magnificently as a unit with tremendous covering and great concentration for the full 90 minutes.
The game kicked off in atrocious conditions and Radcliffe were immediately on the attack, but as the back line soaked up the pressure, a long clearance from Amy Perch was controlled by Ashlee Harrowing who put a superb ball through for Emma D to run on to and calmly slot past the advancing keeper.
The goal was the signal for Radcliffe to pour forward and force a series of corners and throw-ins deep inside the Little Eaton half. But Hannah Atkins, Tanya Carnell, Emma Street and Katie Higgins all put great pressure on the ball, giving Radcliffe little time to settle in a dangerous area -and whenver, they did put a ball through they found Amy P sweeping across the back to clear.
Another great ball from Ash, saw Sarah Bailey outpace the Radcliffe defence and beat the keeper to the ball, but as she pushed it past Radlciffe's number 1, the keeper took Sarah's legs and a covering defender cleared the ball off the line.
Amy P put the resulting free kick past the far post.
Kim Woods and Amy Dormer were both working hard in midfield and combined several times on the right hand side to put Emma D away down the wing.
The second half followed a similar pattern with Radcliffe pushing for an equaliser and Little Eaton playing on the break. The defence stood firm, but dropped deeper as the game wore on.
Sarah B offered the best route to relieving the pressure, taking the ball into far corner on numerous occasions, forcing throw-ins and corners to give the defence time to get their breath back.
Kat Breivik and Lou Shepherd came on after Katie and Amy D had run themselves into the ground. Kat immediately put in some great tackles and some decent balls down the right wing.
But it was Lou who added the finishing touch to a magnificent performance by scoring deep into injury time.
Anothe run from Sarah Bailey forced a corner which Ash took short to Amy P before looping round her to send a high cross to the far post which was met with style by Lou who headed the ball into the net.
It was great game of football between two very evenly matched teams - great credit goes to Radcliffe who battled all the way to the final whistle and always looked capable of taking the game to extra time.
Also a word of thanks to the ref who did a great job in the middle, used his common sense and contributed to a great game in very difficult conditions.
Finally, well done to the Senior team - a fantastic performance which has set up a grand finale to the season!
